  2. Joe The ‘Not Registered’ Plumber Owes Back Taxes
HOLLAND, Ohio (CBS) ― Republican John McCain said Thursday that ‘Joe the Plumber,’ whose questions about Democrat Barack Obama’s tax policy became a centerpiece of the final presidential debate, was the real winner of the televised forum.

But it turns out that ‘Joe The Plummer’ doesn’t have a plumbing license, owes back taxes, makes less than $250,000 a year and is a registered Republican, according to television, newspaper and wire service reports Thursday.

Joe Wurzelbacher, 34, of Holland, Ohio was cited by McCain in Wednesday evening’s debate as an example of someone who wants to buy a plumbing business but would be hurt by Barack Obama’s tax plans.

But the county Wurzelbacher and his currently employer live in, Lucas County, requires plumbers to have licenses. And neither Wurzelbacher nor his employer are licensed there, said Cheryl Schimming of Lucas County Building Regulations, which handles plumber licenses in parts of the county outside Toledo.

Wurzelbacher also owes the state of Ohio $1,182.98 in personal income tax, according to Lucas County Court of Common Pleas records.

In January 2007, Ohio’s Department of Taxation filed a claim on his property until he pays the debt, according to the records. The lien remains active.

Despite portraying himself in some media accounts as an independent or undecided voter, it appears that ‘Joe the Plumber’ is a longtime, registered Republican.

Wurzelbacher’s hometown newspaper, The Toledo Blade, said that Lucas County Board of Elections records show he’s been on the voter rolls since 1992 and is a registered Republican. He most recently voted in Ohio’s March 2008 GOP primary.

Ironically, Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden began his day Thursday on the morning network news programs questioning whether ‘Joe the Plumber’ was “real.”

“John [McCain] continues to cling to the notion of this guy Joe the plumber,” Biden said according to Politico. “I don’t have any Joe the plumbers in my neighborhood that make $250,000 a year.”

It seems Biden was right. CNN reported Thursday that Wurzelbacher acknowledged he makes a lot less than $250,000 and knows that he wouldn’t be impacted by Obama’s tax plan.

    Vote for McCain
    Keep Patrick Fitzgerald
    Indict Daley

  5. pat, not everyone needs a licencse to earn a living. i know many in different fields who are not licenced and decent. i know non-licenced often can under cut price from the licensed layman, but there are times that people on a fixed income need a break in price from needed services. true, when you hire a licensed professional you can have more peace of mind that the job will be quality from someone you can better trust as being trained and competant. look at all these phony politicians who back unions only to hire illegal immigrants to do their construction and plumbing work on theire homes. oh pat, did you take a good look at daley today on the news? he had his hair combed back. he is near bald on top, and you know he dyes his hair several times a week, if he did not, he would have hair white as a ghost. i hope he keeps eating all that heavy starchy food like pasta and dumplings, not to mention greasy butter. heart disease runs in his family. i will say no more.

Antoin “Tony” Rezko leaves federal court in Chicago in this Oct. 19, 2006, file photo. Mr. Rezko spent years pouring thousands of dollars in campaign contributions into Barack Obama’s climb from the Illinois legislature to Capitol Hill, and helped him raise tens of thousands more.

A former Illinois bank official, now claiming whistleblower status, says bank officials replaced a loan reappraisal that he prepared for a Chicago property that was purchased by the wife of now-convicted felon Tony Rezko, part of which was later sold to next-door neighbor Barack Obama.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Kenneth J. Connor said that his reappraisal of Rita Rezko’s property was replaced with a higher one and that he was fired when he questioned the document.

Mr. Connor, a real estate and commercial credit analyst at the Mutual Bank Corp. in Chicago, also noted in the complaint that the bank received a grand jury subpoena in October 2006 requiring it to produce information concerning Mrs. Rezko’s purchase, including the bank’s files on the property.

The complaint also said that the grand jury wanted information on Mrs. Rezko’s checking account and loan file and that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) had audited the Rezko file – although Mr. Connor’s lower reappraisal had been replaced with a higher amount.

“Connor’s internal whistle-blowing activity at Mutual Bank implicates Mutual Bank and the potentially guilty officers thereof to prosecution under federal and Illinois statutes,” said the complaint, filed by attorney Glenn R. Gaffney.

The complaint said Mutual Bank officials could be guilty of making false statements, willfully overvaluing property, bank fraud, witness retaliation, willful violation of a lawful subpoena, FDIC violations, and state banking regulations.

Mr. Gaffney, contacted at his office, declined to elaborate but confirmed that the complaint had been filed.

“It says what it says,” said Mr. Gaffney of Glendale Heights, Ill.

According to the complaint, Mr. Connor reviewed the appraisal of the Rezko property by another firm, Adams Appraisal, which had set the value at $625,000. Mr. Connor’s complaint said that he told his bosses in a report that the property had been overvalued by at least $125,000 and that a “reasonable and fair evaluation” should have been no greater than $500,000.

Later, the complaint states, Mr. Connor observed that his lower appraisal was not in the Rezko file and that he notified his supervisors that it had been replaced. He said, according to the complaint, the new file had been reviewed by the FBI and “if the FBI were to ask me about such matters, I would tell them the truth. I never rescinded my original findings.”

Critics of Mr. Obama’s dealings with Rezko charge that the senator may have gotten a deal on his property purchase, noting that Mrs. Rezko paid the full asking price for her property on an adjacent lot. Both of which were sold by a single seller. Mr. Obama bought his house for $1.65 million – $300,000 below the asking price.

When the property was sold, Mr. Obama knew Rezko was under investigation on fraud charges.

The complaint said the Rezko loan was approved by Mutual Bank President and CEO Amrish Mahajan and others so that Mrs. Rezko could buy a 9,090-square-foot vacant parcel of real estate. It said that in January 2006, Mrs. Rezko and Mr. Obama, along with his wife Michelle, signed an agreement to sell a 10-foot strip of the property to the Obamas. At that point, according to the complaint, Mr. Connor’s firm asked him to conduct the reappraisal.

The complaint said Mr. Connor is seeking $4.2 million for compensatory damages, plus unspecified punitive damages.

Rezko was a key supporter and donor throughout Mr. Obama’s political career, with the Illinois Democrat estimating that Rezko raised $250,000 for his various political campaigns, though not for his presidential bid. The two were friends who talked frequently about politics and occasionally dined out together with their wives.

Rezko was convicted this summer on federal charges of using his clout with state government to squeeze kickbacks out of firms wanting to do business with the state. The charges did not involve Mr. Obama. Rezko is now cooperating with federal prosecutors in a continuing probe of corruption in Illinois government.

Mr. Obama consulted Rezko, a real estate developer, before buying his home in 2005.

As a state senator, Mr. Obama wrote letters endorsing government support of a Rezko housing project for senior citizens. Obama aides say he was simply supporting a project that would help residents of his district, not doing a favor for a friend.

  7. I am coming back from the Bahamas to campaign for Obama.
    Get rid of Michelle
    But Obama forever

  8. DITTO TONY REZKO THIS OBAMA WAS DALEY”S ENGINEERING TO GET RID OF THE BULLDOG PROSECUTER

  9. heres the real story about the Obama election. he ran because we have a bulldog head od the fbi here named Patrick fitzgerald. Pat fitzgerald is investigating mayor Daley’s son for fraud involving city contracts so daley got his man david axelrod to run an obama campaign so that obama can get elected and get rid of fitzgerald here so that daley and his son does not get indicted. axelrod knows the obama campaign is sercretly getting donations from europe and the arabs but he turns a blind eye to it (a 150,000,000.00 million in September!) the axelrod takes all that money and pays college kids to travel out of state to briefly work for the obama campaign and vote while they are working for the campaign. then these college students who are well paid come back home and vote again in teir home state for obama. then axelrod takes all this dirty over seas money (which it is illegal for foreiners to donate, but this will all come out in the investigations after the election) and uses this money to buy up car pools accross the country driving college students and the homeless to the polls. all this dirty money was used to get out the vote largely illegally. this is what is happening! take it to the bank!

  10. How can Mayor Daley say he has no responsibility?

Mayor Daley was States Attorney from 1980 to 1989 (9 years) and even after he was elected Mayor for at least one year he had his hand appointed Cecil Partee. While there was a brief interlude with a Republican (nominally) in Jack O’Malley–Dick Devine (his top person in the office) was elected in 1996 and holds that office currently (until December of 2008 so for 12 years)
Jon Burge was on the police force from the early 70s after Vietnam until 1994.
Daley’s State’s Attorneys took confessions from Jon Burge and tried cases with him. Daley’s office interacted with Jon Burge and received complaints like the letter from Police Superintendent Matt Brececzk detailing torture (that was unanswered and not acted upon)
the Wilson brothers (2 lowlife scumbags) who were tortured happened under the Daley watch in 1981 and Aaron Patterson who was pardoned for a 1986 crime was under Daley and the Ford Heights 5 were under Daley. So how is it again we can’t blame Daley? Dick Devine was in charge of all the post conviction motions including coerced confessions, torture, proof of innocence–and he did not act upon it.
Dick Devine TO THIS DAY denies any wrong doing by Jon Burge.
Dick Devine hired former police officers accused of torture onto the States Attorneys office Dan McWeeny.
In 1996, 7 years into the Mayoralty of his royal highness Mayor Daley (mayor for life) he promoted Peter Dignan who was accused of torture and other wrongdoing. Peter Dignan now works for the Cook County Sheriffs office. So it is interesting that:
    1. Many of these gaelic officers live in the 19th ward
    and
    2. Many of these police officers accused of torture end up on on government payrolls controlled by politics including the Sheriffs and States Attorney

Mayor Daley has not admitted wrong doing by himself. He has apologized vaguely for torture and said it was a bad chapter but at the same time fought law suits, would not be deposed in law suits, paid tens of millions of dollars to defend Jon Burge and other police officers, promoted officers accused of torture, supported candidates (many current Judges) accused of torture with substantial allegations, and helped politically through his organization police officers to get (through Jeremiah Joyce) good post retirement plum political spots (like McWeeney and Dignan but there is more) Even convicted felons like William Pedersen got jobs at the Public Defenders office as investigators.

Freeborn and Peters made a big mistake in allowing these guys to get off the 5th amendment because there are going to be more indictments (but Freeborn and Peters with former States Attorney who took these confessions and the son of the Sheriff who started investigations against pardoned victims of torture TJ Sheehan made MILLIONS on the taxpayers backs)
Kunkle (now a judge and a top Daley States Attorney) tried the Wilson case and now has 4 different stories of what happened.
Egan and Boyle made 7 million (with Henshaw and Culbertson) on their whitewash report that said no one would get indicted.
The sad part is some of these men are guilty and they are now free because of Jon Burge, Rich Daley and Dick Devine.
A criminal investigation should continue into Daley and Devine.

Barack Obama has been silent on Burge torture despite the Peoples Law Office and Wallace Gator Bradley asking him to get involved.
Anita Alvarez better come up with a better answer than we should of done better because it is a cover up.

Burge may be killed or he will commit suicide–at least possibly–because he can take down a lot of cops and the Mayor himself.

  11. JON BURGE WAS NECESSARY TO KEEP CHICAGO SAFE. Is Jon Burge a pretty picture? No. Did Jon Burge break some eggs to make an omelette? Yes. As Otto von Bismark the Prussian leader said: you don’t want to know how laws nor sausages are made.

There was bad violent crime. PO Fahey and Boyle were good kids with families. The Wilson brothers were cold blooded murderers who kept another guy locked up because of there lies. Let us be honest they deserved to be tortured. You think people just admit crimes?

If you had someone murdered in your family–you would call Jon Burge. He was the first in the door, first down the skylight, first to take a bullet, first in the line a fire–a cops cop and a loyal guy with a team that loved him.
These people he got were vicious animals who raped, maimed and killed. Burned people up and killed them. They are animals and deserve to be treated. Do you really think you can solve crimes by playing patty cakes with vicious gorillas? NO

Why do you think the mafia was destroyed and trains ran on time with Mussoloni? Why do you think you had good economic growth under Pinochet? Why do you think that Spain under Franco had low crime and a stable social structure. Why do you think that outfit neighborhoods like Grand Avenue, Bridgeport, Chinatown and Taylor Street did’t have the same level of violent crime when neighborhoods changed–they took the baseball bat and beat Blacks–most of whom were looking for trouble. So you dagos tortured too just not with the police.

The Irish saved this city. Under Harold Washington you had high taxes, property taxes increasing, bad bond rating, white flight, high crime, and affordable housing destroying good neighborhoods.
Let’s be honest Daley did the impossible and took down Cabrini Green, Robert Taylor, the Taylor Street homes, the State street homes–and brought in law abiding, clean white people, or minorities with money and class and not project animals. The project animals are in Harvey, Markham, Robbins and now crime is lower in Chicago.

Mayor Daley brought down the old 1st ward by helping the Federal Government and being an informant and supplying information and no that is not being a rat–he was the States Attorney that is what he was supposed to do. Because Pat Marcy, Fred Roti, and Ed Vrdolyak had this city for sale and judges like nickles and dimes in their pocket fixing murders, and having an open city of theft, corruption, prostititution, strip clubs, drugs, extortion, gambling with Ed Vrdolyak meeting with Joe Ferriola the boss from Taylor Street (and a good Irish journalist Steve Neal busting him) and Fred Roti and Pat Marcy being made guys who fixed trials like the Passarella. Daley stopped Vrdolyak and the mob and cleaned this city up.

    Frank Coconate:
    1. Your home is worth more.
    2. Crime is down
    3. The Public Schools are better for your kids.
    4. We have a beautiful city with Millenium Park, flower pots, cows, Northerly Island and restaurants, night clubs, museums–anything you want.
    5. The city is cleaner than under Harold Washington.
    6. There has been a real estate boom under Richard M. Daley
    7. There are more wealthy people in Chicago now and less low income and criminala and Blacks (the Hispanics can be our working class)

Daley did a lot of good and you don’t want to recognize it. Let’s be honest even middle class Black people don’t want housing projects by them and upper class Black people don’t want nothing to do with them.

And I am voting for Barack Obama because that will be enough and the African American/Black community will not get more and Obama will be able to do and say things no White President can.
Obama will ensure that Chicago gets dollars for parks, roads etc.

Jon Burge reduced crime. Jon Burge solved murders. Jon Burge knew how to solve problems on the street. Jon Burge is a hero although he cannot be in public just as some war heroes have a hard time in society because they killed and violence.

Trying to get Jon Burge on some rinky dink perjury charge is bs.
This is a way for the commie anarchist Peoples Law Office to make more money and other (mostly Jewish) law firms to take tax dollars and coddle criminals.

Daley did a good job as States Attorney at putting away these low life. Jon Burge did a good job with Daley at getting confessions and arresting low life criminal scum. Order in the streets cannot be bought. We need people like Jon Burge.

Winston Churchill said that we sleep well in our beds at night because rough men do what is necessary to defend freedom.
Jon Burge is one of those men and deserves our thanks.

We cannot turn Chicago into a circus of anarchy and violence where the Black man will rule the street through violence. We cannot ruin America. Give them Obama as President. Let Daley run Chicago and make it a white and wealthy and classy city.
