  1. City of Chicago truck drivers consider strike vote
    January 22, 2010
About 2,000 City of Chicago truck drivers plan a vote next week which might authorize a strike that could cripple such vital city services as snow removal, garbage collection and airport operations.

The drivers say the action is in protest against Mayor Richard M. Daley’s decision to reduce their hours.

Daley wants to move O’Hare and Midway Airport snow removal drivers from a guaranteed, eight-hour work day to just two hours on days without snow.

Local Teamsters union officials say Daley is punishing the union for rejecting his demand for furlough days and comp time instead of cash overtime.

Chicago Law Department spokeswoman Jennifer Hoyle insists the Teamsters’ contract specifically prohibits them from striking.

  2. Tommy, you poor guy, sorry to hear about your troubles pal, I hope you enjoyed those 2 pies from Bakers Square that you had me go and get for you when I was on the hydrant truck, remember we were working on the hydrants by the hospital on 76th and Stony and you called my cel phone and said to pull off and go get those pies? and I wonder is that water heater that you had me install at your moms house on city time still working?? you messed with me so much because I would not join your organazation (others did also not just you) and remember the 10 days I took because of that laborer leaving early and getting arrested, I went to you and asked to get his hours docked because he never went to the south district yard like he said he was going to do, it was my mistake but I tried to rectify it and you just let it go and it cost me 10 days, I am sure you will be able to find a job in the private sector, there are plenty of jobs out there for people that rose through the ranks because they got African American voters to vote for the white guy, I hope for your sake that you saved alot of that cash that you chaged guys for overtime and did not give it all to the 11th ward because you are gonna need the money, Its a cruel world out there when ya gotta start at the bottom all over again.

It just figures. We have a priest who continually gets involved in political issues by commenting about the role of the USAG or that of the Inspector General’s Office are doing to investigate corruption in the city. First this guy compares Sorich’s trial to that of Jesus’. Now he questions the motive of the Inspector General. Good Lord, I guess if this priest does not stand behind the boys ,the donations will drop off; and the Cardinal isn’t going to tell him to keep out of the matter because if he does how is the church going to pay the victims of perverted priest who molested children if the donations dry up. I bet that the guy who the Inspector General wants fired is part of the wards org. Otherwise, the Daly boys will find a why to keep him at the job. The usual punishment is a slap on the wrist when a 11 warder is involved in corruption.

How appropriate. Daley and the 11th ward crew run a well known political sewer, so they may as well be digging. Here’s the solution.

STOP voting for incumbents. Don’t make it more complicated than it is. Give someoine who is NOT connected a chance.
