Progress Takes Time against Daley
Please read this article by a great Chicago Tribune writer. Many years ago people thought the effects of a few people were in vain. Chicago Unions need to hustle in the right direction. They need to concentrate on the correct candidates and get out of bed with the wrong candidates. These victories must continue. Also many months ago, videos of the winning candidates were posted on this site. They were thanks to the Illinois Committee for Honest Government and, Avila Family, and ChicagoClout.com. I will have a few more posts with the election results of the campaigns I have worked on, most victorious. Patrick McDonough.

Sorry to hear about Patrice McDonough's loss on Tuesday. But please keep in mind that many people have run and lost their initial race only to come out on top down the road (MWRD Comm. Frank Avila is just one of many examples; he won on his third try for the MWRD Board).

Of course it's a dirty business, we the people have permitted it to be, for generations.
BUT, we all now see that it IS not only possible to fire these corrupt assholes, but it's not that difficult.
It just takes EFFORT / ACTION.
The EFFORT to register to vote and the ACTION of voting.
ONE MORE TIME:
1) Identify who the 'machine / long-term' incumbents are.
2) Do not vote for ANY of them.
3) If the targeted-for-firing incumbent is challenged by only one candidate, vote for the challenger.
4) If the targeted-for-firing incumbent is challenged by MORE than ONE candidate, then:
a) If the INCUMBENT is listed FIRST on the ballot, vote for the candidate who is listed LAST.
b) If the INCUMBENT is NOT listed FIRST on the ballot, then vote for the candidate who IS listed FIRST.
This strategy will maximize the number of votes cast for a single challenger, thus increasing the likelihood of the incumbent being fired.
While it's not a guarantee of successfully ridding ourselves of corrupt 'public servants', it's a start at breaking up the unity these rascals have enjoyed and exploited for a long, long, long, long time.
Isn't it about time we all regain actual control of our 'public servants', said control being our right, under our State and Federal Constitutions?
Our right-to-vote is the only means we have to do so, let's all determine to no longer let that right wither and die through our not exercising it."
