Since when does the dept supply security to a hotel for a private event. Hours are from 0600/0200,0200/2200,2200 to 0600. If interested contact Grau's office.

Well the news just got worse a jury sided with the asshole side regarding the screwdriver in the ass incident. 4.6 millon for something that never happened. yes they found screwdrivers in the glove box, just check any unmarked u probably will find one, they found fecal matter on the glove box, umm cops step in shit (real kind).
The jury was not allowed hear the attending docter at strogers who disputes the slit tear in the rectum though the asshole stated that the screwdriver was inserted numerous, which would cause a lot more damage than a slit tear. We can get slit tears from eating peanuts.
The assholes best friend went from seeing this incident to admitting that he never did on the stand, no DNA on any screwdriver recovered, anyone thats knows these coppers know the truth. I feel sick rt now.

Daley takes down the CHA projects so his buddies and family members can make multi-millions in residential developments and places these former CHA residents in apartments, condos and even houses worth $200,000.00 to $300,000.00. Imagine that, you and your spouse work two plus jobs to have a house and now they are handing out the same to people who just pump out babies without ever working a day in their life. The WIX program, not a government agency but an agency funded totally by the Chicago Catholic Archdieses (yes, you weekly cash donations to your church partly go there) buys pregnant women and their children all kinds of goodies from Milk to diapers. Numerous other agnecies pay for their electric, gas and other utilities. The list of freebies never end... Too long for me to mention here.

The illegal alien is WELCOME here by our Mayor, not withstanding that many commit murders and other crimes and flee back to their home country, never to serve a day in jail.

But us coppers, well your dental insurance is really a dental discount, you end up paying for most of the bill out of your pocket as other people, kids and illegals get totally free dental care free. Even look at the CTA buses and the billboards along side the buses- Put your kid in Head Start Program, receive free dental and medical care!

And our medical coverage sucks just as much, hell with preventive care, its not covered, the hell with routine medical services - their not covered. They keep taking from working people to reward everyone who lacks ANY responsibility and lacks ANY desire to work.

From crack heads to alcoholics - free monthly checks and benefits! But screw all of us!

The whole reason every level of government is broke is easy. There is not enough people working to support everyone who knows they can sit on their asses, get high and pump out kids and expect all of us to pay for it.

The reason why we have so many illegals in this country is because they are doing the jobs that the welfare people refuse to do. Notice I did say refuse to do, not can't do. Why work when you get free free free free and cash to boot for living life totally free of any rules or responsibilities?

I hope that a democrat wins the white house, that democrats win the senate and house. Because when they do, finally America will go broke and the hard working people who love America will rise and take this country back again!

If you're writing about WIC, it's a program that comes out of the Department of Agriculture and it's existed since the 1950's.

It's a grant progran, not an entitlement program. It's an cost saving social program since every dollar spend on WIC saves taxpayers about $3 in future medicaid costs. Think about malnourished kids (this is the under five set) and their brain development at that age + bad nutrition = citizens who will eventually wind up at tax burdens when they become criminals, welfare abusers, because their brains are fried.

The kids can't help being born, why punish them for the goofiness of their parents?

As for your donations to Catholic Charities paying for this- no likely- Catholic Charities runs on lots of grant money from public and private sources. If you do donate and are concerned, donate to another program.

The Cook Co. jury system, particularly when the case has potential racial implications, has been compromised. Just look at the electorate of morons from which the jurors are selected. As long as the Democratic Machine reigns in Chicago and Crook County, the anti-police climate will only get worse, if possible.

With metaphysical certainty, Emperor Daley will pick another "insider" as the next CPD superintendent/puppet. Corruption and institutionalized CLOUT RULES local politics, including the CPD!

Without cataclysmic change in the (lack of) leadership in the CPD, either opt for a career change or count the days until pension, officer.

Thanks to Daley, his media influence and a complacent FOP, we are doomed!

Ultimately, an apathetic public will get the police force that they truly deserve.

I hate to go off-topic but something I saw last night on duty I think is worthy of mention given the constant bad light we're seen under. Sometimes we only have ourselves to blame.

Last night (Tuesday, 16 Oct) at about 7:30pm, two marked cars were northbound on Ashland from Roosevelt and stopped behind a CTA bus at the red light at Taylor. The bus was loading/unloading passengers when the light changed to green. The squad car right behind the bus rudely or impatiently began blasting the air horn. When the bus driver did not close his doors, strand his remaining boarding passengers and immediately move out of the way, Officer Friendly floored it and went around the bus and made his right turn from the center lane directly in front of the bus. The officer then proceeded east and arrived at his favorite Taylor Street restaurant to enjoy his discounted meal.

And many of you wonder why people hate us? Everyone can see everything we do in our gleaming white cars. They don't blend in with traffic very well to begin with and then you start blasting the horn as if to say, "Hey everyone! Look at me while I do something stupid on this busy corner."

Good work, officer. You earned us all that break on dinner last night.

I am the poster who suggested the youtube idea. As a police wife, I am outraged that the media,non tax payers, and politicians treat officers as they do. I think you should give them what they want. They say you are lazy, then be lazy. They say you don't care, well then don't care. They say you don't police, well then don't. Other than officer safety for you and your partners answer your calls only. Take your time getting to those Johnny won't go to school again calls. Traffic sucks, how can they prove you took your time? I have looked at many angles of this and I am saddened that i who is not one to give up, feel as if you all SHOULD give up. Give up on trying to do a good job. Doing a good job get you in a beef most of the time. Do the minimum, but never at officer safety expense. They say you are not in certain areas? What better proof than your autograph on a parking ticket at all of the FESTS every Sunday,
I mean church. They want to feel safe, ok start with a ticket for all of those Cadillac Escalades double parked. After all, a child can get hit by a car darting into traffic through those illegally parked cars. I know I will probably get some slack over this post but you know what? I don't care. I know we can move, I know the suburbs have this of that so don't even bother with those types of comments. It is not as easy to start over as some of you think. We have kids, we are not just going to pick up and go. Also I work at a Suburban police dept and let me tell you, it is getting rough out there too. Houses are not affordable as many posters say. Section 8 is popping up everywhere in the burbs. Talk about this with your families. Agree to stop seeing the bad and just do the minimum. Going to work and being bitter at the end of everyday is not good for your loved ones or your health. if you have no plans to quit then you HAVE to make it work for you somehow. When you walk in the door, forget about work-but when you go into your squad car think of your family and yourself FIRST. Be safe and realize that even if it is only police families that are thankful for you guys, is that not enough? We appreciate you, my kids appreciate you. Who cares what all of the number 1's think? The Editors or supervisors should also be listed for their failure to be sensitive by the publishing or viewing of biased news.

This happens much more than you think, and not only in 022. Gas? Are you kidding me? This is a practice which is fraught with liability for everyone. What if theres an accident? Who pays? Will the department say that they told you to take your car? FUCK NO. They would get hung in court. That being said, some officers take their own car because the alternative is standing all day. Make them give you a car, or refuse the assignment.

Remember this and it cannot be disputed. Alderman Tunney had a certain Tact officer from 023 moved off the team after he started doing search warrants all over boys town and arresting leaders of the gay community. The arrests actually hit the news a few times. Tunney tried to sandbag the officer at first but, since the officer is gay he just had him moved to a supposed better spot.

That officer is now suing the city and Tunney. He is currently back in 023 on the day shift.

Ald Tunney answer this question. A gay officer who is clean cut was taking out the drugs that ruin lives. The drugs that ruined lives were in your gay community and being distributed right on Halsted street. He was solving crimes and helping the community. What did it get him?????? I along with most officers from Area 3 know what happened to that officer. I guess will go back to writing cell phone movers. The police work wasn't worth the effort or hassle. Drive down Milwaukee any given day or night. Nearly every Pole has a phone glued to their pirogi ear. Everybody in 016 passes them by, is at lights next to them. No problem. The cell phone ban is a revenue maker for the city. That is all. If you choose to write one odds are you will eventually snag a lawyer, cop, minister, someones mouthy wife or kid, or alderpimp. I live in the 18th and more then once as I'm crossing the street with the light in my direction green, I've almost been hit by drivers on the phone. It's just frigging dangerous to talk and drive, especially in a big city like Chicago. Bottom-line, the law is on the books and it's the officers job to enforce the law. There is every likelihood that if the officer heard on the radio or observed a higher priority offense he would have bugged off the Alderman and told him not to do it again and gone on to the more important offense.

Tunney attempts to brainwash clear thinking people when he says he called the 23rd district commander to ask why he was ticketed for such a minor infraction in such an understaffed district with more important crimes about.

I find that statement to be total Barbara Striesand. Why? Because if that's why Tunney called the 23rd Cmdr. why didn't he call a second time to complain about the wasted police resources in making the special delivery return of his license? I'm quite sure if Tunney had called in to the 23rd Dist. a 2nd after his special delivery he would have made it his business to tell every one that in his Tuesday public CYA statement.

My parents were born and grew up in the city, I was born there as were all my siblings, and 3 of them have moved back to Chicago as adults.

I don't give them grief about the high crime rates or cost of living inside the wire. I just laugh at some of the crazy shit your elected officials do. As bad as they are in the NW burbs, they're worse down there by far.

October 18, 2007 - The politically connected son of a late Chicago mob boss is under arrest on armed robbery charges.

He has one of the most feared last names in the Chicago Outfit - Lamontia. His name is Rocky and his late father's name was Joe, but they called him "Shorty" for his squat stature. On Thursday, the I-Team learned that Rocky LaMantia is in big trouble.
Witnesses say four men walked into a pawn shop at 647 W. Roosevelt Rd. At lunchtime Wednesday and began smashing display cases with hatchets. They allegedly used the tools to hold off employees and customers and escaped with $175,000 in new diamond rings and gold chains. Among them, according to police: Rocco "Rocky" LaMantia, who has had a history of robbery and drug convictions and beat a murder rap 25 years ago.

LaMantia's lawyer, Joe Lopez, known as The Shark for his vigorous defense of mobsters, said in the pawn shop heist, Rocky is being railroaded.

"My client was there to redeem some of the goods that were previously given to the shop owner and had the money to redeem the goods. While he was there, these other individuals came in and violently attacked the patrons that were there. They violently smashed the cabinets, from my understanding, and took jewelry out of there, ordered my client onto the ground," said Lopez.

Witnesses say LaMantia drove the hatchet-wielding thugs to and from the pawn shop and that the blades were actually left behind. Lopez maintains his client is an innocent victim and a witness.

LaMantia is the son of the late South Side rackets boss Shorty LaMantia and were linked to the city hall hired truck scandal. Rocky LaMantia once had city truck contracts, and his wife used to work in Mayor Daley's budget office, which ran the hired truck program. The LaMantias have not been charged in that case, but Rocky's lawyer said authorities will no doubt try to use his Italian heritage against him.

"Of course they're going to use his family background to dirty him up," said Lopez.

The owner of the pawn shop said Rocky Lamantia had been a customer for six or seven years. LaMantia was arrested when he returned to the shop-after the armed robbery, supposedly to check on the victims.

Forty-eight-year-old LaMantia was a fixture in the gallery at this summer's Family Secrets mob trial. He said he was gathering material for a book on his mob family and even asked if the I-Team's Chuck Goudie wanted to write it for him. It was an offer Goudie refused.

Therefore, real property taxes based on the 'fair' market value of said property, is inherently unfair to property owners.

The true value of real property is the cost when purchased, or the amount of debt said property is currently carrying.

Real property's assessed value should be either the original purchase cost or the current, total debt balance, adjusted for inflation.

Tax rates on this fairly assessed value would then be determined by the tax revenue needed to provide said AUTHENTIC services.

This would ensure that the calculations determining both taxes levied and taxes spent are clearly visible to those who PAY the taxes and those who are PAID to provide the services, as in the costs of said services.

Our machine shill wants us to believe that there is an inherent and unquestionable connection between the potential value of our real property and the amount of taxes we should be expected to pay on same.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

The total amount of taxes required to pay for the total cost of services, the division of said tax burden amongst the populace, and the specific factors governing exactly how said division is determined, are the issues at hand.

Further, the nature and authenticity of said services, the costs of same and the lack of accountability, as to the honest value of said services, relevant to their cost, are also issues needing examination.

Simpletons, like 'orion' and his ilk, want us to believe in the fantasy that the way taxes are being determined and levied is fair and 'written in stone'.

The built-in nature of basing taxation of real property on it's 'fair' market value is hardly 'fair', as this value is potential only, until real property is sold or used as collateral.

Basing taxation on the buying and selling of goods and services is the more equitable and fair means of raising the revenue needed to pay for the AUTHENTIC services our governments exist to provide the citizens.

A tiered tax rate, based on each citizens ability to pay, ie., yearly income, would more fairly distribute the tax burdens imposed on same.

Also, certain services provided should require certain responsibilities from those who receive the benefits of same.

Without getting into the vast amounts of waste, abuse, misuse and fraud prevalent in the ways our taxes are spent, we should consider the reevaluation of our current taxation mechanisms to be at the top of our 'lists of things to do'.

My, oh my, how pleased both orion, and his masters, must be, at this frank, honest and unabashed statement of how many clout monkeys view the taxpayers.

First, nobody is saying that it's a given that a homeowner, (orion sees fit to give a grandmother as an example of same), expects to pay taxes based on the original price paid for their real property, as, the suggestion was for the present basis, upon which taxes should be assessed, to be the original purchase price, adjusted for inflation, OR the balance of any debt currently held on said real property.

Second, the purpose of taxation is for the citizens, as a whole, to pay for the services provided by government, for the sole benefit of said citizens, and to have the application of taxation fairly and equitably imposed upon same.

Third, said services, provided by government, for the sole benefit of the citizens as a whole, are to be AUTHENTIC services, provided at the least possible cost, in the most efficient, effective and economical manner, SOLELY for the benefit of said citizens, and NOT for the benefit of those providing the services.

Thus, as I would hope orion is well aware of, he/she is, once again, full of shit, albeit, this time, he/she hasn't allowed his/her lunch to make it all the way through his/her digestive system, before presenting it to us, for our consideration.

Now, now, now, little fellow, nobody thinks that the cost of the AUTHENTIC services provided by government, for the sole purpose of benefiting the citizens who PAY for said AUTHENTIC services, will not increase over time, BUT, everybody KNOWS that said increases should not be much more than the rate of inflation, given that the cost of services citizens purchase from the private sector generally increase due to said inflationary forces and due to whatever remnants of 'free' market forces that remain.

Further, the citizens' purchases of services from the private sector are VOLUNTARY, thus, placing some semblance of economic force upon said private sector service providers to actually provide the services offered to the satisfaction of their customers, ie., the citizens who decide to purchase said private sector provided services.

The citizens have no such freedom of choice, when it comes to government provided services, and thus, there is no effective economic force to be applied to those of government who provide said services, to encourage and require said services to be AUTHENTIC, or to give satisfaction to those who are PAYING for said services.

Finally, the issue of what would be a more fair, equitable and honest way to determine how, (and from whom), taxes are calculated, assessed, imposed and dispensed, and for what AUTHENTIC purposes said tax revenues are spent for, appears to be an issue which orion sees fit to ignore.

My point was, and is, that, until such time as the people, as a whole, are united in their dedication to BE honest, fair, just and genuine, in their relations with others, whether social, economic, etc., there will always exist an environment that is conducive to dishonesty.
