Why don't you say what the problem REALLY is , remember this problem is NOT happening on the Gold Coast or Beverly, it's ahppening in the Ghetto, WAIT! until there is a fire, somone dies and THEN the outcry from community leaders, IT WILL be amazing.
Thank GOD Dave is on the city's case about these hydrants Pat. I am puzzled as why no one see's these thieves stealing the hydrants rings? I bet the thieves are wearing city issued vest and hardhats, this way it looks like the thieves are city workers repairing the hydrants, when in fact they are not city workers but thieves impersonating city workers and stealing the brass rings. I think the city council should pass an ordinance that if you get caught with a city vest and hard hat and you are NOT a city worker you should be fined $10,000. that will make a difference! But getting back to these thieves, the citizens need to be alert because if these thieves are stealing the brass they are going to be making alot of noise to remove these hydrant brass nozzle fittings, they have to break the lead, unscrew the screw, twist the fitting. This would take a thief about 10 mins to do this, So I suggest fliers to alert the communities of the stealing of city property.
