Fire Hydrant in middle of Chicago Street. Daley's friends mess-up

Fire Hydrant in Street Chicago 1.jpg 2249 South Blue Island in Chicago is another example of Rahm Emanuel’s privatization. It is also another example of poor leadership and waste of taxpayer money. This Fire Hydrant should have been moved a long time ago. Many of the phony minority companies, Daley contractor pals do not know when to coordinate and schedule work. Now Chicago Department of Water Management will need to move this Fire Hydrant destroying brand new work causing embarrassment. A Fire Hydrant in the middle of the street, now that is really stupid. It is time for Commissioner Powers to start firing deadbeats at the Jardine Plant. Call the newspapers, this is a story. This job will always look like crap from now on. Back charges are in order. Patrick McDonough. Thanks for the pic my Southside boyz.

  1. THE HYDRANT IN THE STREET WAS FIXED BY THE WATER DEPARTMENT CREW ( GREAT JOB). THE QUESTION IS WHERE WAS THE CIVIL ENGINEER WHO IS TO OVERSEE THE PROJECT THAT IS HIRED BY THE CITY.( WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR IT ).
    ANGELO.

  2. This is most likely a CDOT streetscape project. They usually also include sewer and water “upgrades”. The plans are designed by CDOT hired consultants, with minimal Water Management involvement. The civil engineers on site are also low payed consultants who often have little understanding of their jobs especially underground utilities. The companies that are used for the sewer and water portions are often laughable. It’s truly a damn shame.
