The family of a Texas woman who once portrayed Aunt Jemima has called on the breakfast brand to reconsider its decision to scrap the ubiquitous fixture from its products.

Vera Harris said the family takes pride in Quaker Oates scouting her second cousin Lillian Richard to become a brand representative in 1925, news station KLTV reported.

“She was considered a hero in [her hometown of] Hawkins, and we are proud of that. We do not want that history erased,” Harris said.

Harris said Richard worked for the company for 23 years, traveling around as Aunt Jemima to serve pancakes until she suffered a stroke.

“She made an honest living out of it for a number of years. She toured around Texas,” Harris said, noting there “wasn’t a lot of jobs, especially for black women back in that time.”

Harris said the family was upset by Quaker Oates’ announcement last week that it would rebrand Aunt Jemima products because the character’s origins are “based on a racial stereotype.”

“We want the world to know that our cousin Lillian was one of the Aunt Jemimas and she made an honest living. We would ask that you reconsider just wiping all that away,” Harris said.

“I wish we would take a breath and not just get rid of everything, because good or bad, it is our history. Removing that wipes away a part of me — a part of each of us.”

Today June 16, 2020, a homeless black woman is living on the street in front of Alderman Tunney’s restaurant in the Northside of Chicago. Alderman Tunney is number two in Chicago under Mayor Lori Lightfoot. Tunney makes a large wage as a Chicago Alderman with massive benefits. Alderman Tunney also makes a pile of money with his crappy restaurants in Chicago. I ate at Ann Sather and the food was shit. You think Mister Liberal Tunney would share his money with this lady and make sure she has a bed off a busy street. Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Alderman Tunney sure talk a lot of shit, but actions speak louder than words. Next time you pass Broadway and Granville, throw this lady some money. Two jobs ain’t enough for these two-faced talkers.

Many City of Chicago children were listening in when racist Mayor Lori Lightfoot was acting like a Jive Turkey. The public face Lori likes to portray is that of reformer and a nice person. In private, Lori proved to be lacking in any civility. The Sun-Times called her “thin-skinned”.

Most of us know of people that get what they want and then find out they realize they are completely unqualified. The way these people react when they get in an embarrassing predicament is to act stupid and childish. Mayor Lori Lightfoot took the position of the slow and unwitting Aunty and called all the nut jobs to protest the murder of George Floyd. Lori who is aching for a promotion to a Federal post had all the right ingredients to get ahead. The Chicago Mayor’s job was perfect for her. Rahm Emanuel already screwed everything up. I told you then Chicago is a financial nightmare.

Just like the Daley family, Rahm is set and ready for billions in financial deals ready for his arrival. Chicago is a banker’s paradise. Chicago is so desperate to take any money anyone will loans them. The amount of points on the loans does not matter. Lori is going to go down with the unions that made her. During the COVID-19 emergency, Lori had most of Chicago employees working since they are source of petition signatures and money for the democratic party. These insiders control billions in dirty contracts and funnel the money to the next election. Pay to play.

When you hear the Chicago Media ask questions to Lori, they are nice and prepared. Lori answers in her phony gravel voice attempting to answer like a competent pantsuit.

Lori kept all the old guard and to the real powers that control Chicago. At least when Rahm Emanuel did a photo op he shaved his legs and oiled them up. I still laugh to this day when I see the Chicago cameramen chasing him for some B-Roll. There is a reason why Lori refused to wear a dress in public, thank god for disco pants.

When Fran Spielman hit a grand slam with her release of Mayor Lori Lightfoot swearing like a sailor in an audio recording, it made national news. Fox News has a heyday. According to my sources, the recording was also allegedly released by Alderman Edward Burke’s righthand man. Mayor Lori Lightfoot was so upset, her staff told me she was crying like a baby and then out of control with revenge.

Mayor Lightfoot needs to realize she burned many bridges when she shut down the FOIA’s she promised to reform. Lori Lightfoot cannot return from her riot that ruined her image. White Chicago never looked at her skin color when she promised the moon. Lori failed and is a small spiteful loser. The worst part is all of us wanted her to prove a black lesbian could lead and make haters look stupid.

Yes, Mayor Lori Lightfoot is a jive turkey. P.S. Lori caved in all of the union negotiations, she is again giving big wage increased to City workers. The unions, especially Plumbers Local 130 picked this prize turkey out of the lot. While many American starve and have no work, Lori is taking Federal bailout loans that will come back and haunt her.

Saturday May 30, the loop was taken over by domestic terrorists. Unconceivable damage to retail establishments, looting, and attacks against the police took place throughout the entire downtown business district and seat of government and the government officials elected by us failed in their core responsibility to protect people and property. The individuals that own this are Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Governor “toilet removal” Pritzker both of whom own this epic failure. A few days before the riots broke out the Mayor proudly and publicly proclaimed, “F- U –President of the United States.” Now for a person who likes to use the expression, as Lightfoot frequently does, that a person is using a dog whistle to elicit a response from supporters or a political base-what kind of message does it send to people, that the mayor of the city is telling the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the Country which trump is as President –to go f off. So not only was the statement unbecoming of a city employee –in which in many cases city employees have been terminated for making such statements, the message very likely served to ferment an angry and potentially violent revolt. Yes, the Mayor has first amendment rights but she most has missed the class on the golden rule and the sagacious advice that “Silence is Golden.”

As for the domestic attacks of terrorism, how can the leader of the city fail to collect intelligence and react appropriately to viable threats against the citizens? Do not think for a minute Lightfoot does not reputedly have access to detailed intelligence reports collected by local and federal law enforcement. This information should have led to decision making including shutting the loop down well in advance of the riots and looting. Former Richard M. Daley had already provided Lightfoot with the blueprints from prior lessons learned. Remember the Chicago Flood in the early 1990s? Within a few hours of realizing the loop had a potential major safety issue from flooding, than Mayor Daley raised the bridges and re-routed all traffic and implemented a counter traffic flow to dump the loop in an orderly and prompt manner-it was textbook perfect-not a single injury and the complete evacuation of the entire downtown business district in a matter of hours –all on a regular business day no less.. Following -9-11-01 billions of dollars were spent by government and private businesses to safeguard establishments. State of the art camera systems can cover a person walking through the entire loop and this is monitored. Additionally, Rich Daley frequently utilized heavy equipment from infrastructure Departments to create barriers in order to safeguard police and citizens when threats of attack or civil unrest were on the radar. Why were none of these methods deployed and only deployed until the loop was up for grabs? The reason is because Lightfoot took a chance with all of us in order to maintain her political messages. She was afraid to act and the police department under her control was hamstrung as a result. Not to mention her callous treatment of her new police Chief-accusing him a week earlier of an epic failure for the record violence throughout the city during the Memorial Day weekend. She appoints the Police Chief and all other exempt employees- she is the elected official that is accountable to the people that put her in office. She can try to “Johnny Lujack” the responsibility away from herself, but she damn well owns it. If she really wants to talk about epic failures, she should look at herself and her nice little haircut provided during a public health quarantine in the mirror. She has failed the citizens of Chicago epically. She has no concept about fundamental government operations and deployment of a Unified and Integrated strategy for a major public safety disaster. She should be ashamed of herself. Three years cannot come soon enough. Remember this too-although they have tried to infringe on your second amendment rights-go purchase yourself a private arsenal of weapons –the cavalry is not coming when you need it most to protect your loved ones. The government could not even safeguard the crown jewel of the heart of the business district think they will be able to protect you out in the neighborhoods?

The Covid-19 Virus is no laughing matter. The Chicago and Illinois media has again gone soft of J.B. Pritzker and Lori Lightfoot. None of the tough questions have been asked. Many citizens in Chicago face bankruptcy and are going to be homeless. Many of these people are going to be part of a possible class-action lawsuit. Coo Coo Lightfoot thinks she is the queen of Chicago. Pritzker thinks he is the king of Illinois. The courts are going to weigh in on both of their assumed powers. The reactions by these two is wreaking havoc and will last for a decade.

The shutdown of Illinois, a broke and corrupt state, will leave billions more in an already massive budget deficit. The newspapers are not spelling out the budget is based on a federal bailout. I suspect something is brewing because Leroy Lightfoot is getting real close to Trump and not making waves. Pritzker has his massive beast of a mouth closed. A casino is no answer but moved forward thanks to stupidity. Where are the priorities?

I am just wondering, not long ago the United States was hit with HIV. HIV is a virus. The gay community went stark raving made when a possible isolation order was considered. It was ‘racist”, “antigay”, and you can go on and on. The virus could be passed on just like COVID-19. Covid-19 is passed through sexual contact. In fact, New York told many people not to munch on the behind. (putting it nicely).

Mayor Leroy Lightfoot, an open gay should explain why the Covid-19 response is different than the HIV response.

I think the isolation of the initial HIV outbreak would have saved many lives. Corona Virus Contact Tracing seems like an invasion into your privacy. Why is Pritzker and Lightfeet so insanely obsessed with this strain of virus. The public is being screwed around as to the truth of all this. The public will soon find out the real reason for the invasion of their privacy.

I really hope the Gay and LGBT community fire up and fight for the end of the lockdown. While we wait, Lori Lightfoot will continue to run Chicago into the ground for good.

A major update to the ongoing complaints against Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the stay at home failure. Many cars are heading for Wisconsin. Many successful (and handsome) City of Chicago residents are heading to Wisconsin. Wisconsin is warming up and open for business. Many Illinois residents are completely fed up with the cray cray Governor and Mayor of Chicago. You could make a solid case the actions are based on undermining the President of the United States, Donald Trump. No matter who the citizens of the United States pick as president, one should support and hope the person has all our interests first and foremost. That means you will not get all the things you want, work harder next time.

The Chicago media is anti-trump, it is so obvious; I cannot stomach reading newspapers I pay for. These losers will write about the price of tea in China, and then tie some anti-trump bullshit into it. Stop.

The Chicago media has been genuinely nice and polite to Mayor Lightfoot and allowing Governor Pritzker to bullshit everyone. Chicago’s COVID-19 mess is getting worse. Constant bullshit in the newspapers about a future opening day gets me ill. Just head to Wisconsin, go to a bar if you want to drink, laugh, and be merry. Just get out of Illinois if God allows you.

Staying huddled in cramped apartments is mentally unhealthy. Alcoholism, drug use, child abuse is out of control. The hood is cooking, and the police should be incredibly careful when responding.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot failed to admit she kept all the clout heavy contractors making millions on the Chicago taxpayers dole. Lori is hoping the Federal Government pays for all the out of control spending. Again, Mayor Lightfoot should keep her yap shut and allow Governor Pritzker to handle everything. She is a failure.

I just read the Department of Water Management is attempting to save money by stopping small organizations water to make little Chicago plants thrive. If I were these people, I would review all the fat in the Water Department payroll. So many do-nothings are making hundreds of thousands of dollars. Most Chicago citizens are broke and puppets. They just pay and do without.

Now they are leaving and spending their little pennies somewhere else. Bye, Bye Lori. Maybe you could do a video of dancing in the street all by yourself.
